How to enable Facebook “Login Approval”

Facebook recently rolled out a new optional account security measure called “Login Approval”.  Essentially, it will send an SMS/text message to your cell phone whenever your Facebook account is logged on from a computer for the first time.  You will then need to enter the numeric code from the text message into a verification field on the new computer’s web browser.  When entered successfully, that computer will then be added to a list of known devices recognized as being associated with your Facebook account.

To enable Facebook Login Approval:

1. Click the Account button in the top right of your Facebook Home/News Feed.

2. Click Account Settings

3. Expand Account Security

4. Check the box next to:

Login Approvals

When an unrecognized computer or device tries to access my account:

Require me to enter a security code sent to my phone
