Unable to open the Outlook window / No profile has been created / The list of Profiles cannot be loaded

Problem:

One of the following errors when opening Microsoft Outlook:

  • Unable to open the Outlook window

  • No profile has been created

  • The list of profiles cannot be loaded

Solution:

Option 1:

Run the .MSI fix on Microsoft’s support site found here.

Option 2:

Or to fix manually:

  1. Start -> Run -> Regedit
  2. Navigate to the registry key that corresponds to the verion of Windows currently running:
  3. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem
  4. Delete the Profiles key under the Windows Messaging (Subsystem) key.
  5. (Right-click Profiles -> Delete ->Yes)
  6. Exit Regedit -> restart Outlook.
