Unable to send message: In local permit/deny – Pidgin/GAIM/etc

I ran into an issue with Pidgin where I started noticing some users weren’t showing up as online for a long period of time. I set it to allow to send to offline contacts, and tried to send to someone I knew was online. It gave me the error: Unable to send message: In local permit/deny I fixed this by blocking the user, and then unblocking him. Hope this helps for you as well.

Kenwood BT838U Review

I recently purchased the Kenwood BT838U – I had a JVC recently and the load times on anything besides a standard audio CD were almost unbearable. After reading several other reviews on those units I found that it seems to be a fairly brand wide phenomenon. I went back to the drawing board, and found the Kenwood BT838U. Here are some of it’s features: -Built in USB iPod Control -USB support for FAT32 mass storage devices

DPM Review – 90 Days with Microsoft’s Data Protection Manager

I’ve used Microsoft’s System Center Data Protection Manager for about 90 days now as my main production backup service. Here is my quick review of the product. Pro’s: One stop shopping for support: Microsoft products backing up Microsoft products sounds like a dream come true for support – and mostly it is. The knee-jerk reaction to something like this is to say “Microsoft has to support any problems I have” – and they do – again, mostly.
